CHAS GLOVER
Opening: Wednesday April 7th 6–8 pm
Exhibition: April 7–20th
Gallery@28 proudly presents New Works by Chas Glover.
“My new works invite the viewer on a road trip, they are inspired by my motorcycle, the landscape it travels through and time spent in between...” explains Glover

Images of roads, bridges and crossing water weave through the work, propelling the viewer into the landscape to arrive at dreamt or half remembered destinations. Nudes lie in rooms in empty beach shacks, men meet in twilight and ships set sail past ominous shorelines.

“The work is individual, edgy, lyrical and disturbing. His knack of reeling in an unsettling atmosphere and creating intrigue, combined with a painterly technique make these paintings seductive works of art.” states Kate Hopkinson-Pointer, Director of Gallery@28.
This is Glover’s 11th solo show. Largely self-taught, Glover “Makes work that exists in the present and that reach out into subconscious realms…”
“The viewer can’t help but feel as though they have been part of that journey, emotionally and visually.” reflects Kate Hopkinson-Pointer.
Glover was born in Sydney in February 1964. He moved to Melbourne in 1988, then to Europe where he lived in Berlin and London. He returned to Sydney in 1997 where he now lives and works.
