Experience a feast of visual dialogue, reflecting the conscious inner workings of one of Australia’s most respected comedians and contemporary political satirists in his first solo art exhibition presented by Gallery@28.

Expressive and introspective, this series of paintings are a feast of visual dialogue, reflecting the conscious inner workings of a witty comic, entertainer and artist.

"These works are a visual metaphor, gestures and sweeping stokes of color express the sense of humor and personality of their creator…they almost speak, laugh and observe …the work is alive and animated…they are very much an extension of Peter.” states Kate Hopkinson-Pointer Director and Curator of Gallery@ 28.

When he isn’t making art, Berner makes a living as a well respected Australian comic and TV entertainer (The ABC’s BackBerner and The Einstein Factor), radio presenter, corporate speaker and published cartoonist (The Bulletin UK and City Hub).

Berner graduated from Sydney’s National Arts School in 1995. "Pete and I met at National Art School …’’ explains Kate Hopkinson-Pointer, “…he is a great draftsman but his ability to capture raw expression and humor are what drew me to his work….”

In 2004 Berner was involved in “Trio” a group show at Wilson Street Gallery and began exhibiting with Gallery@28 in 2009.

This will be his first solo show and is sure to evoke much discussion and appreciation amongst fans and art enthusiasts.
